Two-step Seed Starting Method
This two-step method of seed starting technique protects the seedlings from possible attacks by other living organisms and fowl weather until they become established.

First round of seed starting
- First step is to sow seeds in a flat or shallow pan of vermiculite or other light soil mix. Then, see to it that at the pan is completely damp prior to seeding. Fill the container with the soil mix half inch from the top. You can smooth out the surface by pressing it down lightly with a piece of board. But, before setting the seeds, always try to check the recommended planting directions. You can also scatter the seeds on the surface and sift a layer of soil.

- Second step is, when the seedlings have developed two sets of true leaves, transplant them to 2-inch pots filled with moist planting mix—like making sure to use a growing medium that can provide food for the developing plants, such as compost or another organic amendment. You can loosen the soil around each plant so that you can hold one of the leaves and carefully pull out the seedling. Try to use a stick to make a hole in the new planting mixture, then put in the seedling then cover it with soil. Keep the plants shaded for a day or two, then they are ready to be moved out into the light so that they will fully grow.
